The Criminal Justice Summit, to be held Monday November 15 from 8:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame Conference Center’s auditorium in McKenna Hall, will address the costs associated with the death penalty. Professor Smith will be speaking at 2:30 p.m. on “Streamlined Habeas Review: National Effort through the 1996 Federal Anti-Terrorist Act.”
The Civil Justice Summit, which is being held at the same location on Tuesday November 16 from 8:30 – noon, will focus on the social and economic effects of mortgage fraud and the foreclosure crisis. The conference will analyze the judicial process and enforcement actions relating to the housing market, as well as the victims involved in these cases. Professor Fox will deliver the keynote address following the Indiana Attorney General’s opening remarks at this summit.
