● Liken the current job market to a constricted housing market, where houses are often sold before “for sale” signs are planted in the front lawn. In those markets, learning about a house before, or as it is going up for sale, is key.
● Similarly, learning about jobs before they are posted is also key. In conversations with friends, neighbors, church members, service providers, law school and undergrad alumni – let them know where you are seeking work and ask them to let you know when they learn of openings or potential openings. Their assistance can be incredibly helpful!
