Tenants' Rights Project

The Clinic represents tenants in St. Joseph County courts in both Immediate Possession and Damages proceedings from inception through trial. Beginning in Fall 2008, the Clinic instituted an occasional Pro Se Assistance Clinic on Monday mornings in the Mishawaka Superior Court. At the Pro Se Assistance Clinic, law students offer brief legal advice to tenants appearing for Immediate Possession and Damages hearings. The Clinic also conducts public education sessions to inform tenants about their rights and responsibilities under Indiana landlord-tenant law.
