He earned his B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 1980 and his M.A.L.S. from the University of Chicago in 1983. He worked as catalog librarian at both Eastern Kentucky University (1983-84) and Indiana University School of Law (1984-88), and as assistant librarian in the General Electric Corporate Legal Library (1988-89).
His areas of interest include integrated library systems and classification of knowledge. He serves on a number of committees as a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (since 1985) including Technical Services Special Interest Section (Cataloging and Classification Committee member 1990-92, Nominations Committee member 1991-92, Serials Committee member since 1993, Technology Subcommittee of the Serials Committee chair since 1993, vice chair in 1997-98, and chair-elect in 1998-99) and On-Line Bibliographic Services Special Interest Section (editorial board member of Technical Services Law Librarian since 1996).
He has been a member of the Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians Conference Committee, representing the University of Notre Dame Libraries (1996-97). In addition, he has participated in University libraries activities including the NOTIS Implementation and Policy Committee (1991-94) and the MARC Holdings Format Product Implementation Team (1992). He has served the Law School as a member of the Strategic Planning Subcommittee on Research (1994) and as a member of the Ad-Hoc Committee on Computing (1994-95). | Judith Fox is a Clinical Professor of Law at the Notre Dame Law School, where she teaches and practices consumer law. Since joining the Notre Dame faculty 1997, she has taught courses in consumer law, alternative dispute resolution, ethics and domestic violence. Prior to joining the law school faculty, Judy was the deputy director of Berrien County Legal Services in St. Joseph, Michigan. Judy graduated from Notre Dame Law School, magna cum laude in 1993. She was the articles editor of the Notre Dame Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Judy was a loan officer at banks in both Pennsylvania and Indiana.
Ms. Fox runs the Economic Justice Clinic. Her advocacy and research focus on issues of predatory lending, primarily in the housing market. | Julian Velasco joined the faculty in the fall of 2001 as an associate professor of law, and earned tenure in 2007. Prior to joining the Notre Dame Law School faculty, he served as an associate professor at the Hofstra University School of Law, practiced law as a corporate attorney with Sullivan & Cromwell, a New York City law firm, and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ellsworth A. Van Graafeiland, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is admitted to practice in the state of New York.
Professor Velasco received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was awarded the honors of Kent Scholar and Stone Scholar and served as an editor of the Columbia Law Review. He earned a B.S. magna cum laude from Georgetown University School of Business Administration, where he majored in Finance and minored in Philosophy and in Theology.
