Pro Bono Requirements symplicity - Login Now

To participate in Pro Bono at Notre Dame Law School, students must attend one attend a Pro Bono Professionalism training session at the law school (see Symplicity for dates and times). This training session will cover the students’ professional and personal obligations under the program, as well as provide the appropriate tools for identifying and creating pro bono opportunities.

Once a student has attended a training session and developed a collaborative pro bono placement, the student must return the Commitment Form to the Career Development Office. If the student develops their own pro bono project, he or she must meet with a Career Development Office counselor to obtain approval to include the work in Pro Bono at Notre Dame Law School before commencing the work. Students are required to track their hours in the Hours Log.

At the completion of the project, but no later than March 31st annually, the student must return the Hours Log to the Career Development Office. The student will then be sent an electronic evaluation. Once both the Hours Log and the evaluation is received, the Career Development Office will be able to verify your hours to anyone seeking that information.
