Dates and Deadlines

January
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1. The FAFSA may be completed online at fafsa.ed.gov. Notre Dame’s Federal School Code is 001840. The FAFSA is required for all federal loans.

February 28
Suggested deadline for submitting the FAFSA to receive priority processing consideration for financial assistance.

Mid March
Date by which the Office of Financial Aid begins to mail Award Notification letters to candidates whose FAFSAs were submitted by the February 28 suggested deadline.

May 15
Suggested date for completing the Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) and, if needed, any other educational loans.

July 15
The Office of Student Accounts generates a billing statement on July 15 with a due date of mid-August.
