Eligibility:

U.S. Citizens & enrolled in or applying to an accredited graduate school in the United States

Interested in introducing an international component to degree studies by focusing on an area of the world that is critical to national security & economic competitiveness

All fellowships must include study of a language other than English & the corresponding culture that is appropriate for the degree program in which the student is enrolled. Fellowship recipients incur a service obligation & must agree to work for the federal government or in the field of higher education subsequent to the fellowship period

Demonstrated academic excellence; a comprehensive, clear & feasible proposal for study; a plan to develop, maintain or advance language competence; evidence of ability to adapt t a different cultural environment; & the integration of the proposed program into the applicants field & career goals

African American law students who have a 2.5 GPA or higher;
