I vividly remember arriving on the Notre Dame campus around this time last year to visit the law school as an admitted student. I was certain that Notre Dame Law School was the perfect place to develop the skills I would need to become “a different kind of lawyer,” but like most law students, I wanted to be absolutely sure about my decision before making such a profound investment. From the moment my wife and I arrived on campus, we were thoroughly impressed by the phenomenal sense of unity and commitment to academic and personal excellence. I met with several of my professors and fellow students and by the end of the weekend we were anxiously awaiting the beginning of the 1L year. On the flight back to Texas, my wife and I were planning our move with absolutely no equivocation. We knew Notre Dame Law School was the perfect place for us.
A year later, I am so glad I made the decision to attend Notre Dame and I’m thrilled about the bright prospects of my legal career. Even more importantly, I’m pleased with my personal development and the genuinely good people who have been introduced into my life. Being a part of Notre Dame Law School means more than having access to world-class professors, an intellectually rigorous curriculum and an outstanding alumni network. My expectations regarding what a traditional law school should be have been consistently exceeded. From having the honor of discussing valuable life lessons with Chief Justice Roberts to being blessed with professors who are amazingly caring and accessible to working shoulder-to-shoulder with colleagues who are passionate about achieving common goals to make our community a better place for all, we are N.D. and it shows.
