On the NDLS Experience
“I decided to come to Notre Dame for many reasons, but one thing about NDLS that really stood out to me was the warm welcome I received from the Admissions Office to current students from the moment I was admitted. When I finally moved to Indiana and Notre Dame, I was not disappointed. There is a real sense of camaraderie among my classmates, and my professors always seem to have an open door, ready to listen, offer advice, or discuss something from class. Even in larger classes, I have found it amazing how much professors enjoy getting to know us one-on-one. Of course, having classmates from many backgrounds and perspectives adds to both friendships and classroom discussions, as well. And then there are all of the “fun” activities – from intramural softball to watching football games together in the fall to the Father Mike Show in the spring! Ultimately, though, I believe Notre Dame’s commitment to creating a “different kind of lawyer” (which we do hear about a lot but is definitely true) is the underlying force for creating a kind of community that goes beyond the classroom and begins to develop us as members of a profession to which we can someday make a profound contribution.”
