On the NDLS Community:

I can say without a doubt that I never could have had the experience I’ve had at NDLS at any other school. I knew coming in that I didn’t want to completely sacrifice three years of my life to law school. What I didn’t realize was how much a part of my life my classmates here would become. My husband and I were married the summer after 1L year, and he was immediately accepted as part of the law school community from the beginning—Notre Dame, and the law school, allow spouses to participate in pretty much every aspect of campus life, which has been great for us. When we found out we would be having a baby in December of 3L year, I was overwhelmed by how supportive everyone (faculty, staff, and classmates) was. Our friends threw us an amazing baby shower, and even took turns cooking dinners for us after he was born (even though it was the week before finals!). My professors and the staff in the Student Services office were not just understanding of my situation as far as school was concerned, but genuinely cared about how we were doing. It has truly been a blessing to be part of this outstanding community and be able to receive such a high-quality education at the same time.
