On How NDLS has Shaped My Personal and Professional Goals:

“My NDLS experience has affirmed my personal goal to be a lawyer of integrity. It has also confirmed my professional goal to serve those oppressed by systemic injustice. In a profession that tends to value self-aggrandizement at the cost of morality and people, both integrity and serving the marginalized can seem foolish. Through their teaching and lives, various NDLS professors remind me of the value of being an ethical lawyer and promoting the rights of the underserved. Hopefully I’ll become a lawyer known for faithfulness to truth and justice.”

On Human Rights Law:

NDLS has expanded my opportunity to learn about international human rights. At NDLS I can interact with faculty who care deeply about the human rights of those around the world. In addition, I have the chance to hear the stories of both students and faculty who have struggled for human rights in their home countries, or have suffered as a result of injustice. I believe the Law School’s program in human rights will effectively prepare me to serve in this arena.”
