On What It Means to be an NDLS Lawyer:

“From the beginning, it was clear that the staff and faculty felt that becoming a member of the bar imports certain moral and ethical duties on an attorney. While an attorney’s duties to his clients are clear, NDLS also emphasized the duty that each attorney has to his community and to society as a whole. My classmates and I left NDLS understanding the need, and feeling the imperative duty, to incorporate public interest and pro bono work into our practices in order to help those less fortunate and to help make the world a better place.”
