Insights Regarding My Area of Practice

  • I’m proud to serve as both a military officer and an officer of the court. Serving as an Air Force JAG provides me many unique challenges and rewards. I’ve worked in various areas to include serving as a prosecutor in courts-martial, corporate/ethics in-house counsel, and medical law consultant.

Volunteer/Pro Bono Work

  • Wherever I’ve been stationed, I’ve been able to volunteer at the local ND Alumni club’s service events. While stationed at the U.S. Air Force Academy, I taught Professional Military Leadership to a cadet squadron and served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Air Force Academy’s varsity fencing team.

On the NDLS Education:

“I felt NDLS prepared me well for the challenges of working at a large law firm, then as a military attorney. But most of all, my time at NDLS impressed upon me that what kind of lawyer I am is a function of what kind of person I have set out to be. For me, that means my professional commitment to excellence in the practice must be grounded in a personal commitment to serve and positively affect others’ lives.”

On the NDLS Family:

“Although I attended ND for my undergraduate degree, I did not expect how profound an impact attending NDLS would have. You can get a legal education at a lot of places, but only in a supportive community like NDLS can you become part of a family while attending law school. My classmates were first-class, intelligent, supportive individuals. I made great friends and had memorable, fun times. For me, the faculty was a big part of setting the tone of NDLS as a supportive academic community. And of course, whether it be local ND club events or getting back to campus for football games with friends, the ND Family lives on well beyond graduation.”
