Admission into Notre Dame Law School as a transfer student is selective and is based upon your prelaw qualifications and academic record at the law school from which transfer is requested. Notre Dame will accept a maximum of 30 semester hours of credit earned at another law school which is approved by the American Bar Association.

To be eligible for consideration for admission as a transfer student, you must have completed one year of study at a school that is approved by the American Bar Association. As a transfer applicant, you are required to subscribe to the Credential Assembly Service. However, you must submit the supporting documentation as follows:

• an official transcript from the institution that granted the baccalaureate degree
• an official transcript reflecting all first-year law courses and grades
• a personal statement indicating the reason(s) for wanting to transfer
• two letters of recommendation, one of which is from a law professor who has taught you in class
• an official Credential Assembly Service Report
• a dean’s letter certifying good standing and class rank, and
• a non-refundable application fee of $65.

Transfer applicants must have all supporting documents on file with the Admissions Office no later than July 15.

An online application for transfer admission is available via LSAC’s application website May 1, 2012 through July 1, 2012. Applicants who are unable to fully access the LSAC electronic application service may submit their application form, personal statement and resume directly to the Law School.
