Eck Hall courtyard snow Notre Dame Law School admits new Juris Doctor students for the fall term only and begins accepting applications October 1 for the next fall’s entering class. The deadline for submitting an application for the fall entering class is February 28. Given the competitive nature of admission, applicants are advised to apply early in the admission cycle.

Early Decision Program

Candidates who choose to apply for our binding Early Decision Program must apply by November 1, with all supporting documents on file with the Admissions Office by November 10. Early Decision applicants who meet this deadline will receive an admission decision by December 15. If an early decision application is not complete by November 10, the admission committee will review the application under the regular decision review process.

Once admitted, Early Decision applicants are committed to attending NDLS and must withdraw all other law school applications. Additionally, admitted candidates are required to submit a seat deposit, which will be applied to fall tuition, to confirm enrollment.

Regular Decision Program

The Law School follows a “rolling admissions” process for Regular Decision applicants. The deadline for submitting an application for the fall entering class is February 28. Once an application is complete with all required credentials, it takes an average of eight weeks for an admission decision.

Regular Decision applicants who are admitted must pay a $600 deposit by April 20 and a second deposit of $400 by June 10 to confirm enrollment. The seat enrollment deposits are credited toward fall tuition.

All admitted candidates are considered for scholarship and grant assistance from Notre Dame.

Scholarships

All admitted candidates (from both the early and regular decision process) are considered for merit-based scholarships. Scholarship notification is included in the admission letter. The scholarship amount included in the admission letter may be for merit-based scholarship, need-based scholarship, or a combination of both. We do not match scholarship awards from other law schools.
